About
Recently I answered the question, “Why do you blog?”
In the middle of 2010 I chose to transition from a leadership to a consulting role. The thing that I miss the most is the opportunity to work closely with my employees, isolating their opportunities for improvement and helping them grow. My favorite part of the job was developing the team and the individuals and I missed it.
Then in November a friend at work asked for some advice about their job. The conversation lasted around two hours and I was struck by how useful and meaningful that conversation would be for all sorts of other people. It was like a light bulb went off. I realized that I needed to find a better way to share those thoughts with more than one or two people.
The reasons began to pile up after that. I’ve been blessed in my career over the last 13 years or so. When I look at the organizations around me I see so much potential. I’m walking through a field of seeds that haven’t sprouted for lack of watering. I wanted to provide a place that they could come for that water.
In addition, I would love (LOVE) to be a person who could make a living writing self-help/encouraging material. My dream job would be motivational speaking. Blogging gives me the chance to practice my writing and build up a portfolio of ideas while making a positive impact on people’s lives. I really do love it.
Bootstraps is a weekly blog and articles are typically loaded on Saturdays. Take a look down the right side of my front page and you’ll see the table of contents.
I hope that you find this blog meaningful and love to hear back from you.
God Bless,
Jonathan
